One of the world’s largest grocery retailers, Kroger, is relocating to a new distribution center in Forest Park, creating 120 new jobs and investing more than $175 million over the next five years.
Governor Deal said, “Georgia is the ideal location for Kroger to establish its newest distribution facility. Our interconnected highway and railway system, low cost of doing business and highly skilled workforce create a solid foundation to better serve Kroger’s markets in the Southeast.”
The new positions at the Forest Park facility include security, warehouse, transportation management and more.
David Lockhard, mayor of the city of Forest Park stated, “The city of Forest Park will see 1,500 new jobs over the next two years plus new revenue to support critical services for our residents. Gillem Logistics Center will be the region’s premier, world-class, institution grade, and regional and e-commerce distribution park.”
